THE EYES

The Eyes is an art rental catalogue concept created for the Metropolitan Museum, showcasing women’s portrait paintings from 1800–1900 in North America. The catalogue celebrates the timeless power of gaze and emotion in portraiture.

ART Catalogue

I titled the project The Eyes to emphasize the most captivating and expressive feature of each subject—their eyes, which serve as silent storytellers connecting viewers across time. The design approach focuses on elegance, clarity, and historical reverence, allowing the portraits’ subtle beauty and strength to take centre stage while maintaining a refined curatorial aesthetic.
